Evaluation of Reinforced Concrete Structures with Magnetic Method and ACO (Amplitude-Correlation-Offset) Decomposition

چکیده

The magnetic method is one of the very few nondestructive testing (NDT) techniques that provide possibility to conduct area tests reinforced concrete (RC) structures in a fast, cheap, and straightforward way. This paper aims present new approach simultaneous identification rebars’ diameter, alloy class, thickness cover tested with this method. Since rebars from different manufacturers may have electromagnetic properties (standardization only for mechanical properties), preparing an effective universal database impossible. In work, ACO decomposition proposed, attributes extraction designed identify object parameters, even if it impossible collect suitable training (by pattern recognition analysis deviation). Conducted prove enables accurate reflection waveform shape limitation number three or fewer (avoiding curse dimensionality). These properties, combined ability analyze spatial components induction (which sensors provide), make complex task parameters more separation between results received classes larger. article presents measurement whole process.

Evaluation of Seismic Response of Concrete Structures Reinforced by Shape Memory Alloys (Technical Note)

Shape memory alloys (SMAs) are unique smart materials that have many advantages, such as ability to resist large strains without leaving residual strains and ability to recover original form. However, the high costs of SMAs have limited their usage. This paper evaluates the behavior of concrete structures equipped with SMAs in an optimal manner as they are being used along the plastic hinge of ...

Reliability evaluation of reinforced concrete beams

The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the time-invariant reliability of reinforced concrete beams designed under the provisions of the ACI Building Code. A wide range of practical design situations is considered. The beams are subjected to bending, shear, and torsion. The interaction between shear and torsion is considered via an elliptical failure surface defined in the shear-torsion stress...

Structural Rehabilitation, Retrofitting and Strengthening of Reinforced Concrete Structures

Reinforced cement concrete is getting extensively used for construction of different type of structures for the last one century. During this period, we have constructed many structures like buildings, bridges, industrial structures, pavement, water tanks etc. using this construction material. These structures have been created with huge investment of resources. It is essential to maintain thos...

Steel Bars Identification in Reinforced Concrete Structures by Using ANN And Magnetic Fields

This work proposes a methodology for non destructive testing (NDT) of reinforced concrete structures, using superficial magnetic fields and artificial neural networks, in order to identify the size and position of steel bars, embedded into the concrete. For the purposes of this paper, magnetic induction curves were obtained by using a finite element program. Perceptron Multilayered (PML) ANNs, ...
